A recurring theme of my research and practice is identity, especially in relation to locality and place. I am also interested in the relationship between arts and crafts in the context of the history of female practitioners. I was brought up surrounded by the products of creative process that seem to have conditioned me, in some way, to follow this path.
In a contemporary sense, I see my work as belonging to the tradition outlined above, but designed to be seen outside of the domestic context altogether. The pieces I make reference and question the history that informs the work and are to be viewed by a critical audience in gallery spaces or similar contexts.
